Overview:
PACE Supply in San Carlos, CA is looking to hire a passionate, knowledgeable, and inspirational team player to become our next Counter Sales for Plumbing.

In this role, you will be empowered to be part of a team that makes a difference in the order fulfillment of our customers, which impacts all levels of the organization. To be successful as a counter salesperson, you should provide excellent customer service, consistently maintain the image and vision of PACE Supply, and achieve the sales goals of the company. An outstanding counter salesperson should display a positive attitude focusing on customer satisfaction, maintain an orderly appearance, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Ascertains needs of customers by taking orders and advising customers of additional parts (substitutes, upgrades, and accessory items) to assist with completions.
  • Enters orders into system.
  • Pulls and prepares materials for customers. Packs materials in boxes or on pallets (as appropriate) to reduce damage.
  • Checks filled orders prior to delivery or pick up to ensure accuracy and timeline of order load.
  • Assists customers with loading of orders as necessary.
  • Processes returns from customers.
  • Fills out credit memo and returns material to stock, if appropriate.
  • Waits on “Express Will Call Customers” and checks orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the overall facility to support safety standards, with an emphasis on the area assigned to the workgroup.
  • Looks up part numbers, quantities, product locations, and customer information on the computer, as appropriate.
  • Refills shelves and racks from overstock, as needed.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a cooperative manner with customers, co-workers, and managers.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to count, and to perform basic mathematical computations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (generally up to four digits)
  • Ability to put things in a proper sequence (e.g., by size, alphabetically, numerically) and to put like items together
  • Ability to organize work and pay attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of business/office equipment (e.g., photocopy machine, simple calculator) and practices (e.g., basic business communications, including writing brief notes)
  • Ability to learn and utilize basic computer skills (e.g., keyboarding)
  • Basic knowledge and proper use of the English language, including reading, writing, and oral communications
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to learn and operate forklift and man lift safely and within acceptable standards
  • Ability to learn and follow rules, methods, policies and procedures of the workplace
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
